The SKIDCAR™ Type A is the perfect solution for Law Enforcement, Protective Service, Municipal Fleet, and agencies using automobile-based fleets. The SKIDCAR can be completely adjusted to fit a full range of training requirements including beginners and highly trained professionals.
Through the use of an electro-hydraulic pump and an electronic controller with memory, the SKIDCAR SYSTEM transfers the weight of the vehicle to the outrigger/frame assembly. This allows the change and manipulation of the vehicle’s co-efficient of friction (a.k.a. grip) to duplicate a myriad of driving conditions. Unlike any other training tool available, the front and rear tire grip can be set independently to experience different types of skid control and prevention. Training happens safely, at low speeds, without the need for a wet pad or special surfaces.
A new solution for transporting a SKIDCAR! The Type A FOS is a folding outrigger system, providing the perfect solution for agencies, academies, and private companies who require moving their SKIDCAR to offsite training areas. With a width of only 92 inches and 3 bolts per corner to allow the outriggers to fold, the SKIDCAR frame can be left totally assembled to load onto an open or enclosed trailer with ramp overs. From mini class to full size luxury models, we can build a Type A or Type A+ that fits your program needs. Should the host vehicle need to be changed for any reason in the future, an attachment conversion kit is available, allowing the SKIDCAR to be installed on another car that meets Type A weight specifications.
